Bed Bug Prevention Tips

we strive to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort for our residents. In the rare event that you discover bed bugs, please notify us immediately so we can schedule extermination services. To help facilitate effective treatment, please review and complete the following tips:

  1. Please strip all beds of blankets, sheets and pillows. We recommend drying these items on the highest heat setting.

  2. Provide access to all rooms, even if you believe the issue is isolated. This allows the technician to be as thorough as possible.

  3. Clear any items on closet floors to allow better inspection and application of treatment.

  4. Vacuum floors, baseboards and closets to remove debris where bed bugs can hide. This helps make the treatment more effective.

  5. Clear off the tops of bureaus, nightstands and other furniture. Furniture may be moved or tipped during inspection.

  6. Cover fish tanks and turn off pumps prior to treatment to avoid poisoning aquatic pets. Please remove or isolate other pets.

  7. Residents should plan to stay out of the unit for at least 2 hours after treatment is complete.

You may find some items and furniture shifted after the treatment - this is normal as the technician inspects and treats all areas. Please let us know if you need assistance returning items to their original positions.

Preparing your unit following these tips will greatly improve the effectiveness of extermination services. Please let us know if you have any other questions! Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
